The Metal Shell universe, and the vehicles and characters that inhabit it, are the result of collaboration between Tantalus and Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and producer of Heavy Metal magazine.
A rich and detailed game world and setting, co-designed by Kevin Eastman.
The single player campaign also accommodates different styles of play – players can pursue conquest and domination, or can unite the warring factions, gaining the trust of potential allies by performing missions for them.
A cast of Eastman - designed characters, appearing not only in the game’s narrative sequences, but as allies, adversaries and advisors to the player when making decisions on the world map, and as the other members of the player’s unit when on the battlefield.
Extensive opportunities for customisation, in terms of vehicle appearance, faction or “team” insignias, game type rules, and more. Players will be able to download and edit templates for vehicle textures and insignias, and will be able to modify the rules of game types through the in-game interface.
A varied and customisable WiFi multiplayer experience, fully utilizing the PSP’s wireless capabilities, with a full complement of vehicle types, weapons, environmental settings and game types.
Destructible objects and environments. Buildings and other large objects and structures will explode in a cloud of fire, smoke and geo-particles, leaving behind a shell that will continue to react with the game’s physics in an entirely consistent and believable way.
All-encompassing physics-driven particle effects system, featuring rocket contrails, smoke, flame, ash, soot, dust storms, falling snow and water splashes.
Huge cross promotion of the title in Heavy Metal magazine and beyond. Hard cover graphic novel and toy line to follow on from the game.
